The Chassahowitzka river community is a diverse cross section of people. Many are local residence that have grown up here, others come from other states or countries, many of the owners are snowbirds or absentee owners that have acquired property being passed down through the family. but everyone seems to hold the chasmainian lure of this little piece of paradise. Some for weekend get a ways others come that have vacationed here as children and yet there are people in the metropolitan areas within 50 miles south and east that have never even known that his place exists. The village in Chaz is typical "Old Florida Fish Camps" built on a network of canals used by many for commercial fishing crabbing, and netting for every thing from Mullet to Shrimp.
